What are base and quote/term currencies?

The base currency is the first currency in a currency pair. The quote or term currency is the second currency in a currency pair. For example, in the EURUSD currency pair, EUR is the base currency and USD is the quote currency.

  1. The topic tradesyncer different position sizes raises an interesting point about how position sizing can affect trading outcomes. Position size should generally be considered alongside account size, risk tolerance, stop-loss distance, and the amount a trader is willing to lose on a particular idea. Different positions can create different levels of exposure even when the underlying strategy remains similar. I found this topic useful because understanding position sizing is an important part of risk management and can help traders approach their plans more systematically.
